Yerra Participates in the B2Run in Basel

June 27, 2017  | Nadine Stuttle

Despite the scorching heat in Basel last Friday, the Yerra Team showed determination and commitment with a fantastic turn-out for the B2 Run in support of Laureus Swiss Foundation for Girls in Sports. This is the second year Yerra has participated in the event, with a definite fixed date in the dairy for the team going forward. The support of the crowds and fellow runners certainly helped cheer everyone along, as well as the help of a few watering stops!

Our reigning champion for the men's team sadly lost his top spot to our new addition, Jonas Pfandler, who completed the 6K in an impressive 21 minutes and 22 seconds. Having been with Yerra for a week, Jonas clearly displayed the Yerra spirit! The winner for the woman's team, Josie Johnson, retained her top spot in a time of 33 minutes and 51 seconds. Congratulations to both! As I was slowly running the race route, I came to the distinct realization that my personal skills were more suited to running the Swiss Team from a desk as opposed to the track! However, as with all charity events, it was participating and supporting the team that counts.

Following the race, we wrapped up the night with some much needed refreshments and socializing. Many thanks and well done again to all those who participated at the event. We look forward to seeing you for the 2018 race, maybe next time with a little more training on my part beforehand!
